Grammar School at Leeds.
The new state of the art facility for the Grammar School at Leeds was opened in September 2008. The flagship development at Alwoodley Gates in Leeds provides much needed additional accommodation following the merger with Leeds Girls High School. The scheme involved the refurbishment and extension of the existing buildings to create a new junior school and sixth form in addition to new classrooms including maths, science, technology, IT, music rooms, and extensions to the library and catering facilities. The nine new extensions and 25 internal refurbishment projects were completed on time and under budget. Watson Batty Architects were novated to the contractor’s team under a two stage design and build procurement route.
