Ruthin Castle Hotel.
This project comprises two different schemes - the creation of a new luxury health and leisure spa facility and a development of 15 retreat style woodland lodges. As the hotel forms part of the listed castle building and has Ancient Scheduled Monument status, Watson Batty had to submit detailed drawings and design statements in order to meet the strict planning criteria. The new development will therefore be constructed using such natural materials as sandstone with limestone details and Welsh slate, and will be of a scale to remain in keeping with the historical significance of the site.
