New Lodge and Athersley.

The community at Athersley identified a wide range of issues impacting upon the area including pockets of poor quality housing and environment, issues with anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime, and lack of quality public open space and child/youth facilities. The Athersley masterplan provides a detailed analysis of the issues affecting the area, along with a number of specific intervention measures to regenerate the area and create a vibrant, sustainable community. The vision, strategy and key interventions have been developed in partnership with the local community, stakeholder and partners including Barnsley MBC and Berneslai Homes.
